Best solar pump for waterfall? #1
Hi, in the spring I want to rebuild my rockery and add a waterfall, but the pump I will need will have to be solar powered? I already have a solar powered pump/filter IN the pond, but I have no idea what to get to circulate the water through the waterfall. Any suggestions greatly appreciated thank you

Do you have a budget in mind?
You can get solar powered pumps that can (so they claim) run a waterfall, but the main problem is you are in the U.K.
In short to have a solar pump work it needs sunshine, and lots of it, we don't really get it constantly, so the way round it is to have more and bigger solar panels, but here in lies the problem. The more solar panels you have the more it is going to cost you, it can and often is cheaper to have a mains powered pump than to invest in solar power for a pond.
I have looked at several solar pumps over the years, they do work (sort of) but as they are solar they stop when there is no sunshine, they don't work at night, and if I were to consider batteries, what will charge them up if there is not enough sun to run the pump?

I can only say good luck to you.

If anyone reading this has an opinion, either agrees with me, or disagrees with me, don't just sit there, let us know.
