Sticklebacks and Goldfish together in pond? #1
hi guys new here

Just a quick question, i have a small heavily planted pond with 4 goldfish in, looking at small native uk fish i can keep vast majority are ruled out due to size or flow/oxygen requirements like minnows orfe etc

Anyhow just wondered would small goldfish and stickleback be ok in this pond together ?

Would like to hear reasons for and against

Cheers

Sticklebacks don't combine well with goldfish. Small goldfish will be bullied by sticklebacks who are quite aggressive fish. If the goldfish survive that they will grow to be large fish and will try to eat the sticklebacks, whose spines will likely get them stuck in the goldfish's mouth/throat causing the death of both fish.
