well done mate!!!

Good i hated college exams, but i managed to slap my ICT teacher in the face (not literally) basically failed first year of ICT, re-took the year didnt even get the exam stage, collected my exam results and saw my ICT teacher and said to him, "hi steven, guess what!?, ive got a full-time job where ICT is mandatory,". The look on his face was priceless.

Well Steve Varman ive do the impossible ha! in your face!

Phil

WELL DONE!!! once again

Re: What do you think of the biorb? #59
Looks allright ...

Budget for a new skimmer , as the Red Sea is crap...

If you get the tank you will need to bin the integrated filter , as this is just a nitrate factory .... the whole point of the live rock is that it is the primary filtration , if you have loads of sponge or floss in the Juwel filter it just becomes biological , which is ok in a fish only system , but as a reef ( which you have LR ) you want as low nitrates as possible.

So budget for another powerhead to replace the filter and a new heater because you will be binning the integrated one ...

Also, budget for a new test kit as the interpet ones are crap .... and budget to buy some salt as you will need it for your water changes , make sure you ask the guy which salt he has been using so as you can carry on with it , as changing salt has to be done gradually ...

How much is he wanting for this lot ? allow yourself another £100 ish to make the mods you need .... we can advise where to pick stuff up cheap !

I'm intrigued to see what the red leg hermit crap looks like

Good luck , any other questions, just ask !

Re: What do you think of the biorb? #60
RE . My post above ...

There isn't enough LR in there to provide a 'berlin system' filtration , so if you get it you will have a decision to make ...

A) Bin the LR, keep the filter and go 'Fish Only'

B) Bin the filter , buy some more LR and go 'Reef'

You can't keep them both as he is doing, you will find that the nitrate level in that tank is very high ... the filter is acting as a biological filter ( like in a freshwater aquarium ) , and you do not want this is in a reef setup with inverts and corals and stuff ...

Looking at it closely, i don't think the LR is proper LR .. looks like old coral skeletons .... be careful ...

I would look at rehoming the cowfish and the star ....
