I have noticed this freaky looking thing in my tank, always seems to hang around on the top rock closest to the light and it whether it is a coincidence or not me discovering this "thing" coincides with one of my Peppermint shrimp completely dissapearing.
After doing some research it would appear that this is called a Mossy Chiton a form of Sea Slug, any idea if these are reef safe, harmful to my tank mates or if i should be looking out for anything inparticular?
Seems kind of odd that one of my Peppermint shrimp has dissapeared!
how big is it then?? from what i can find, if it is a mossy chiton, its a general scavenger, eats algae, dead stuff etc etc, so i wouldnt of thought it has killed your shrimp, and as they only reach 6cm max i would say the clown want have anything to fear either. can you remove it? send it to Dr. Watson, thats if you dont want to keep it!! he will ID it and let you know what it is. i sent him some bristleworms!!

Im 99.9% sure it is a mossy chiton, having looked at a lot of sites to do with them today they look identical to what is in my tank. Im going to keep him in there and call him Moss!
It seems kind of strange though (nothing to do with Moss) that one or my Peps has disapeared, no sign of any struggle or a half eaten shrimp, could it be possible that it has tucked itself away to lay eggs or something?
