YET ANOTHER QUESTION LOL *** anyone got any ideas??? #1
Why can't I seem to get the water in my tank crystal clear? I do regular water changes, the filter is big enough for the tank and maintained well, water readings are always spot on, I don't overfeed, I have java moss, moss balls and java fern in there.. water always looks better after a water change for a day or 2 then it's goes dull again (but not cloudy) if that makes any sense!!

any tips very much appreciated :o)

What sort of filtration do you have? What's the water flow like?

Re: YET ANOTHER QUESTION LOL #3
it's a 100 litre tank (hexagonal) and is filtered by a fluval 3 plus.... i also use an airstone but not a very powerful one.... the flow is quite strong but doesn't seem to swish everything about too much. things are just moving gently.. tried a fluval 4 plus but it was like a whirl pool lol especially with the shape of the tank!

Re: YET ANOTHER QUESTION LOL #8
yours is a new tank isnt it?
if it is, i always found that my new tanks did the cloudy thing for ages despite regular water changes etc. then one day they just settled down and behaved. im sure i read somewhere its got something to do with bacteria on the substrate.

Re: YET ANOTHER QUESTION LOL #9
Have you tried using the carbon pad in the fluval3+ and see if this helps the water clear if you had an external then I would have suggested the bio-chem zorb which is carbon based as this keeps my Rena lovely and clear, but sadly they don't do it for internal filters

Re: YET ANOTHER QUESTION LOL #10
yeah it is a relatively new set up so hopefully it will settle in time... meanwhile I think I'll definately give the carbon pads a try... thanks guys :o)
