Ooops! #1
I was cleaning out my goldfish tank yesterday and Basil accidentally got sucked up the siphon tube and into the bucket fortunately he is in one piece and is fine aside from a split fin. I feel so bad though

Glad he is ok. Are you going to put a little aquarium salt in the tank to help heal his fin?

I put some melafix in, I'm sure he'll be fine. It's only a little split, it should be healed in a couple of days.

Poor Basil - but what a ride They're like moths to a flame though, can't keep themselves away from the siphon tube when I'm 'hoovering', I've had a few near misses! Hope his fin heals soon - I daresay he'll be none the worse for it and he's got a good 'mum' to look after him

Well I won't repeat what I said when I saw him disappear up the tube needless to say it had 4 letters.

It doesnt stress them out to much, ive done it to around a week hatched fry at college (nothing you could do to stop it) and they were all fine, although most of them did die later on due to a parasite break out
