maturing my tank? #1
I've had my marine tank set up for a week now and am considering putting in a large amount of live rock.At the moment I just have 6 kg's in there and some live sand.I was wondering as the ammonia and nitrite levels are 0, will putting this rock in help mature the tank or will all the good stuff in the live rock simply be killed if the ammonia and then nitrite rise later on, leaving me with "dead" live rock? If I wait before putting the rock in, how else can I get things going?

the ammonia etc will happen anyway what ever amount of rock you put in. I would say get it all in now, let the tank cycle again. Once it is done, it is done, and you won't need to worry about it. It won't kill everything. We still have things growing on our rock from the original rock we put it in.
