During the summer my pond started turning very green
I looked on line and I saw Swan mussels would be a very good to help clear it and they wold be environmentally friendly
I bought 10 (they were very big, bigger than my hand)
Yes, they did a really good job, 3 eels my pond was clear
My pond is about 3 feet deep and is made from bricks, there is a filer tank and a water fall from the from the filter tank (that helps with aeriation of the pond (just gold fish in there)
I was looking in there today when I was feeding the fish, I saw 3 of the swan mussels were open and empty, they are dead (I binned the shells)
What I want to know is why have they died, I have checked the water, it’s all normal as far as I can tell
Any help advice would be appreciated
