My pond fish have spawned (shabumpkin) I removed some of the eggs and they hatched and are so small and about four days old.
I currently have them in a very small butter bowl and I'm feeding them fry crushed powder food. I'm conscious the waters poor there's no movement etc.
I have bought them a 6l aquarium and can put a sponge over the filter to stop it blowing them about but I'm terrified they are too small / won't find their food / will get sucked into the filter and die.
I'm at a loss at what's right to do with them being so small as it seems cruel to keep them in such a small dirty space for now
Until they are a bit bigger I would put them in something like a 2 lite ice-cream box with an airstone running and change 50% of the water daily to keep it clean. A turkey baster is ideal for sucking up left-over food etc., without harming the fry. They can go in the tank when they look more like little fish, but a 6 litre tank won't last them for very long as they will grow quite quickly.
