Blue Ram spitting food, weird stomach and somthin stickinh out from its behind.(pics) #1
Hello,

I have a 350L aquarium with 3 gold rams, 1 blue ram and other community fish and this particular one has some weird symptoms (spitting food, weird stomach shape and something sticking out from its behind). I have this fish at least 6 months+. I got it with other 5 e.blues but i had a very bad velvet outbreak and i got left with this one. Is it possible for him to have some kind of internal parasites and live that long? He was like that from the moment we bought him and i thought he is just not fed well enough but this isnt going away.... Most of the time is hiding in the valisnerias jungle (cause the gold ram male chaces him a bit) and comes out to eat. When he comes out he seems fine but im a little concerned cause of his belly and the thing he does with his food. Can you help me? Is it an ilness? and if yes how did he live with that so long? If it is a parasite what should i buy to make him better? Any help is most welcome!

As far as I can see that's his breeding tube so not a worry. But the spitting food and general thinness could mean an internal bacterial infection or internal parasites of some kind. I would try treating him with Esha 2000 or Myxazin and see if that helps. His hiding away may be down to being bullied by the other male.
