Platy bum - is this normal? #1

I've got a platy that looks like it always has something white sticking out it's bum. Is this normal? I thought worms or camallanus would be red? The other platys don't have this but he is larger and pigs his food. Not fed today in isolation but still there.

Please refer to photo.

How long has this been the case?
What foods have been put in the tank for the past few weeks? Anything else eg aquarium salt or medication added?
Is this constantly present or does it come and go?
What are the readings for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate at present?
