Newbie help #1
Hi. Hope you can help. I've been searching for an answer but can't find anything that fits do sorry for the new post.

I bought my daughter a small tank (8 gallons) and set it up 2 weeks ago. I went to 4 different aquariums and all gave different advice on how to start the tank.

A few days ago we bought 3 harlequins and, as advised, some aqua care bio boost. I was told to leave the tank for 3 weeks and then do a water change.

This doesn't sit right at all with me. I had no idea about fishless cycling until we had already bought the fish otherwise I would have done that!

I know I am in a less than idea situation but any advice on how to proceed from here would be great. I have testing kits and am prepared to do whatever I need to do to make sure the fish are ok! Thanks

Hi

Sorry you've been the victim of poor advice - sadly happens all too often. However, we have a guide to what to do if you accidentally end up doing a fish-in cycle so follow that and your fish should be OK.
