Little fish with lump on onside #1
Hi Members

I’d be grateful for some advice on what to do about a little fish which has a lump on one side that seems to be growing and has opened up showing white / pink flesh.

I asked for some advice and was told the following but the medication doesn’t seem to have helped.

Hi. It looks like an abscess. Please get the following :Seachem ParaGuard, 250 ml

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Micks

Hi

It sounds like he has an infected wound or maybe an abscess. Treat with a strong anti-bacterial medication such as Esha 2000 or Waterlife Myxazin. Paraguard won't help at all as it's a treatment for external parasites such as gill flukes

Re: Little fish with lump on onside #3
Hi

Thank you so much for your advice, I’ve ordered esha 2000 and will let you know how it goes. Does the medication it have any effects on the other fish in the tank? Should I be separating the fish with the problem into a smaller tank?

Many thanks again

Micks

Re: Little fish with lump on onside #4
It won't harm the other fish so it's fine to treat the whole tank.
