Is it even a fish? My friend took a picture of them in Seatle Aquarium

Not a 'fish' I've ever seen in all my years here. Surely some form of bacteria or the like?

I had a Google and it's a Pacific spiney lumpsucker, the other photos of it I found on google images are ridiculously cute, but the ones where they are stuck to the glass are terrifying!!

Well done Emma - had a quick search on that and they are quite cute when you can see them properly. Reminds me a bit of one of the marine fish I had years ago, a Porcupine puffer called Oscar - he was very cute too. :)

Wow! Thanks guys! So they're not so creepy at all. Surely there are many weird fish in the sea :P

Certainly are some strange things down there. Especially when you go right down to the deepest parts where light doesn't reach - some of the strangest creatures on the planet live down there.

Re: Weird creepy looking fish #7
I'd looove a puffer fish, the sweetest fish I ever saw was a little baby long horned cow fish, just the most interactive little animal, it's what got me interested in fish. I was strongly considering a tank of dwarf puffers but I think my pH 8 super hard tap water would be too much for them and I don't want to go down the RO route with my big tank.
