white spot. #1
We have recently started restocking our 125 litre tank and some of our new fish have white spot. What is the best medication to use. We also have shrimps in there so are any of them shrimp friendly or will we have to take them out.
Thank you k

Esha Exit is very good and one of the very few that are shrimp-safe.

None of the shops around here sell esha so I have ordered some. I have a spare tank so am going to transfer the shrimps over and treat with what I can get hold of. Unles interpet white spot treatment is safe. How long do I need to keep them out of my main tank?

Hard to say for sure, but I would keep them out until treatment is complete and you've done a couple of big water changes plus run carbon for a few days. AFAIK the Interpet med is not safe.

Re: white spot. #8
So we managed to transfer the shrimps into another(very very noisy!) Spare tank and they look happy. The first dose of interpet white spot went in on saturday. The next dose needs to go in on day 4 so my question is does that go in on tuesday or Wednesday which is day 4?
And of course the shrimp safe stuff will arrive at about the same time but at least I will have it in reserve!

Re: white spot. #9
Count the first day of treatment as day1, so day 4 is Tuesday

Re: white spot. #10
The Esha I ordered arrived today the other white spot treatment went in last Saturday with the second dose on Tuesday. How does this sound for a plan?
The esha says to carry out 2 40% water changes over 3 days while running carbon so
We water change tomorrow and monday putting the carbon in tomorrow then review on tuesday and if it still looks as if they have white spot to start treating with the esha on Tuesday. Taking the carbon out first.
Does this sound ok. If so when could the shrimps go back in? They are happy in the other tank but mr k really really wants a betta for his birthday and i don't think the two will mix! Thank you
Ps thank you for all of your help fishlady
