Re: Breeding plecos #2
Are you absolutely certain it is the Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps which have bred?
Normally a pair isn't mature until they reach 10" and then to breed they build a nest which consists of a tunnel dug out of the mud of a river bank and which extends for up to a metre in length.
They also lay about 1000 - 3000 eggs on average.
It would be very rare indeed for those fish to breed in anything less than a tropical pond.
Well done if it is those though.

Re: Breeding plecos #4
You should take loads of photos of both adults, surviving fry and tank. Then take a full set of water test and make a note of all the details that you can remember.
With all that in place let others know so that they might be able to emulate the spawning.

Sounds interesting - can you get a pic of the baby at all? Would be great to see the little guy Any idea how old the baby is? What else do you have in the tank? I know you said mixed cichlids but a bit more detail would be interesting Water parameters would also be interesting as finnipper mentions, definitely try and keep a record of all the information

Re: Breeding plecos #7
Quick question - I see you've uploaded a lot of pics - are they your fish from the same tank?

EDIT: Just seen some of them have copyright notices on them. Can you clarify which of the photos you uploaded are actually yours? Any that aren't your own (i.e. any that were not taken by you) will have to be removed I'm afraid as we'd be breaching the copyright of their owners if we let them stay on this site.

Re: Breeding plecos #10
Afraid I've had to remove almost all the images as they were from other sites (including the Gibby). Can you confirm all the rest are actually photos taken by you of your own fish please?

Can you get an actual photo of the baby and upload it for us as given you have a rather strange mix of fish (incompatible water parameters etc ) and an environment not conducive to breeding for this species I'll be very surprised if your plecs have bred and it may be the offspring of something else in your tank.
