Nice little article with big graphic in PFK about goldfish size and smaller alternatives.

It's marvellous isn't it! I almost couldn't let myself believe the big orange one was a goldie, kept thinking it must be some previously unknown species put in to raise our hopes and then dash them down!

i've posted on PFK being very positive about it and asking if they can post an online version a la the ones they did for the freshwater and marine tankbusters. Maybe, just maybe, people will actually start to believe that we're not nutters when we go carping () on about goldies and sizes and tanks!

Just in case anyone was tempted to doubt, and go down the 'yeah yeah, it's just a pic, goldies don't reeeeaaaaallllly get that big' road I've posted some pics of some of mine that I took a few weeks ago for something else I'm working on

'Small' here is one of Howie and Rocket's babies, she's the smallest bar one, Una is several times the size of her and rapidly catching up with Dad, and Fuzzybutt the dwarf goldie is still fry sized but 'Small' is getting bigger! So I took this while she was still able to fit in the bowl! Bowl is 9 inches across, 7 inches deep ...

Nor is Dad (who was playing up terribly )





Small was in the bowl for a very short time, then I put it in the tank thinking she'd swim out and she just sat there looking bemused! I had to tip her out in the end, clearly has Dad's brains and not Mum's

Its not a goldfish bowl, its Howie's food trough.
