Forgot dechlorinator! #1
I've just done a 30l water change on a 110 l tank and forgot to add dechlorinator. It was about an hour before I realised. i have taken some tank water out and added the dechlorinator to that to dilute it and then put it in the tank. . Can't believe I did that!. I was trying to do several things at once like feed the children and tidy the house and got distracted.
So am I likely to have damaged the fish?( 7 small Platys) or killed off my bacteria?
Should I take some media from my other tank to help?
Has anyone else done this and what effect did it have?
Any advice please?!.
Thankyou

keep an eye on it but as long as you did add the dechlorinator to the tank its probably ok.

It works instantly so should be ok now, hopefully no damage done so maybe check the water readings for a couple of days. You won't have hurt the fish.

Re: Forgot dechlorinator! #4
Well, several days on there seem to be no problems in the tank from my mistake .
All fish are fine and no spikes so far. I will carry on testing but hopefully I've got away with it!.
Thanks for your advice and reassurance.
