Classifieds #1
Hey guys, just an idea for the classifieds.. just wondering if it'll be worth while to add a 'Items wanted' section?

Apologies if there already is a section for this, I've looked all over and can't see anything

Re: Classifieds #2
People tend to put wanted ads in the members forum TBH. I'm a bit sore after the last time I tried to suggest ways in which we
could get classified to actually work.

my2p worth:

A wanted section would be a complete waste of time. Hardly anyone looks in the classified section as it is, If the classified section was looked at more often there would be no need for people to post items in the "Members Lounge"
Good quality costs. Bear this in mind before you start.

Sorry if my reply is NOT want you want to hear, but what I have said is true.

We can only go by what you type.

A "thank you" costs nothing, but goes a long way.

Re: Classifieds #5
That's fair enough.

Perhaps a better idea would be to introduce the classifieds section into the forum, it's a bit hidden and there's no history in there so I'm not even sure if it's used at all?

Past deals would be a good idea as a kind of feedback system.

Anyway now I know I'll use the members lounge, but if anyone has duckweed for p&p let me know

Just my 2p ? a couple of other forums have the classifieds in the forums instead of separately, seems to work ok so maybe it would be something to consider?

Re: Classifieds #7
Thanks, I understand where you're coming from (apart from the sarcastic comment about the placement of the classifieds, I'm perfectly aware where it is, most forums I've used have them integrated in the forum with great success)

Feedback systems work, do you like buying off sellers on ebay that have zero feedback? Forums I've used commonly keep old threads and there's usually a 'thanks' forum so you can see if anyone has traded before and check their legitmacy.

So you can't request items on this site? Thanks I'll make sure not to bother.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't slagging the site off, it was obviously a very poor suggestion going by your post. The advice I've recieved here has been second to none and by far the best I've come across

All the car forums I'm on use Sue's suggestion and it works really well.

Re: Classifieds #9
I have to say, I do prefer using classifieds which are within the forum it self,
As a few have mentioned here,

Re: Classifieds #10
After speaking with the mods we've decided to remove the Classified section from the site.

If you wish to sell or place a wanted ad for an item you can use the Members Lounge and we'll see how it goes.

If a member is posting too many or only adverts in the forums they'll probably find these posts are deleted.
