ID pond thingy please #1
Hi all, I was just about to give the wildlife pond a clean when I noticed it was teeming with caterpillars with tails!! What the heck!!!? Most are about an inch long. Some are single, others are in groups. The "tails" are over 2" long. The bugs themselves seem to have a whitish ziz-zag pattern on the INside. I would photograph them, but I may puke on the lens!!
Any ideas? Friends or foes?

Mayfly and dragonfly larvae look like caterpillers with tails I can't post pics up from google images as they are copyrighted I think, but have a look on the web.

These sometimes make it into tanks inside where they should always be removed as they can eat very small fry.
