Found a Mayfly in my Tank #1
Lifting my lid to feed last night and to my horror there was a mayfly sat on the middle bar of my tank looking rather hot and singed but still alive....I know that they lay there eggs in water so now I am worried I will get Nymphs etc how will i know if I have and what will they do ??

If i see any I will hoink them out with a new asap

They come in with plants, quite common. Just 'hoik' it out and keep an eye out for other related critters over the next few weeks.

I know this is really late, but why would it be bad news to have mayflys in your tank? Found one the other day, but it was in its larval stage

The aquatic larvae of some flying insects are carnivorous and could in theory attack a small fish. Mayflies should be OK though.

Me too, found this little nasty tonight in my shrimp tank. I thought it was a shrimp skin at first.
I found a maggot in the tank a few weeks ago, now I know what it was
