Mean looking thing #1
Hi all,

Hope you are all well.

I found this little chappie in the tank a few weeks ago. He's clearly matured over the last few weeks and is now a little larger (1.5 or 2cm head to tail) and green. It's legs are also much longer.

It tends to sit still for long periods of time and then wander off through the plants just as if it were a terrestrial insect.

Tank is planted fresh water tropical. It has no fish in as my landlord is... well, you can imagine.

What is it?

Cheers,

Pete

PS. Why can't i get the image manager to work? and why does the site log me out every time I move from one page to another?

Looks something like a mayfly larva but they usually have 3 long tails. No idea.

Re: Mean looking thing #4
I have a couple of similar but slightly smaller about (1cm) similar looking things but with wings in my puffer tank. I feed him live bloodworm and so is it possible for them to go through their life cycle and become red mosquitos in a tank? If so could they be harmful at all?

Cheers,

Jaybird
I want a bigger tank!

Violet, You're a legend. That's deff what he is. Google images has a picture of a green one taken from above and he looks exactly like that now. As I've no fish in the tank (stinking landlord) I'll just leave him be I think.

Cheers,

Pete
