Re: Living pictures aquariums #3
I remember when these first came out several years ago - they seemed to have a bad surface area to volume ratio on first impressions, but the power filter makes up for that quite well. They can only be stocked lightly, and only with small fish as they are only 6" wide, but I know of some set-ups that have worked well (stocked with a small shoal of cardinals and the like). I still have reservations as there is very little room for the fish to dart backwards when startled, so this could cause unnecessary stress, but have yet to try them out myself. it would be good to hear of any experiences, good or bad, with these tanks.

When I first saw them I also felt concerned about the water interface for gas exchange and their width... Seemed a bit cruel to me...

Good point, Goldy about maintenance.
Let's suppose you are on the ladder leaning against the wall but how do you make sure the thing does not fall when you are doing jobs around it? Must be tricky...
And I imagine it would be difficult to maneouvre a fish net to get a fish out (?)
