Hi gang been away a week but I managed to stock my now 7 week old tank with 2 cleaner and 2 dancer shrimp.
I believe I have 3 other algae eating hairy mithrax(?) crabs in the tank. I added 2 red legged hermits a week ago and two days later one had been attacked and pulled from his shell - I am not sure what but feel it may have been the other red legged hermit.
I have a medium (3inch) red bristle worm, loads of feathers and now 4 turbo snails.
I have successfully seem to have eradicated the aiptasia with boiling water injected direct with my salifert 1ml syringes
I have saw another creature last night and sure its a slug of some sort not sure what type...fairly clear with snail type mouth about 1-2inches long with a 'saddle' that looks like a turtle shell...any ideas?
Got a TDS meter now and incoming 220ppm and RO output =18
I have my hydor wave maker and 12v koralias now and they work like a dream!
Skimmer on overdrive but still new tank and with snail/crab cleaning overtime its good to see it catches all small crap.
I have tested tank again and replaced my rowaphos...it had reduced it from 50+ down 0.2ish so now hopefully will get to 0ish by tomorrow!
I am changing 10litres per week to maintain NO3 but have it between 4-10 at any time - is this ok or still too high? More frequent/more water change (have 250litre tank)required you reckon? evaporation is around 5litres per week, so adding with water change 15l per week clean (10 salted)
I am hoping to get my fist one or two fish today (my young girls cant wait to get 'nemo')
One other question..I have quite a few white 'specs' on my front glass that seem to be running around (only on glass) - what are they, are they a concern to me?
hope everyone is well!
