Image manager sizings? #1
Probably being a little thick here but is there a way of telling the image manager to display the image in the original size?

When I upload images I do resize them generally so they look their best without filling the screen or taking ages to download. So it's a little frustrating when the image manager gives me the option on 400x256pixels or 800x512pixels when I've cropped and sized the image to something inbetween like 600x500 and selecting either one distorts the image.

The way it should work is that any image that you request to be inserted into a post is resized either 150, 400, 800 or 1000 pixels wide with the height resized in ratio.

If the uploaded image is smaller than the size you request for posting it leaves the image the size it was uploaded and doesn't attempt to resample it. So you could use if you want the image displayed at the same resolution. It does rejpg the image though which can affect the quality.

The forums also shrink images that are too big using javascript for display in a thread. I couldn't work out how to turn that off without hacking the code.

If I were to do the image manager again there's a few things I'd do differently.

Ah right, so I just tell it that the images are bigger than they really are and it does leave them alone. Must have assumed again , thank you
