I have a question about price :-S been looking in different places and shops and checking prices :-S things are expensive :-S and am no millionaire (The poor student) but just wondering on whats the best price to pay for new tanks and stuff was hoping to get something like this one
Have a look for second hand tanks on ebay - limit your search in relation to your post code as you will most likely have to go and collect. I got my 4ft rena tank & cabinet for £189 on ebay, and lots of other people have got terrific bargains (Pic to give you an idea - no fish in it when taken)
i was going to say that i also got a good deal on ebay, but the seller is now no longer a registered user. i am slightly suspicious! i will try and find the same tank but from a different seller for you.
Cool i will be keeping an eye out for bargains at end of month if am lucky i can get a nice size tank for about £100 :D that then frees some cash for some nice fish once its ready and some nice new things for the tank gravel, plants, etc
I got my 4' x 2' x 2' tank from ebay for £10.50. No stand, lights or filter but it does show that with patience, persistance and a little luck you can get some real bargains.
A couple of important points to ask though. 1. Does it leak at all? (repairs can be made but if its a leaky tank it should be massively discounted) 2. Have they used copper based medication in it? (if yes then you wont be able to keep inverts) 3. Are there any scratches, chips or cracks?
its all well and good buying a tank off ebay but it the seals go you have no come back to the seller i bought my 4ft tank from maidenhead aquatics end of range for £200 including stand and all the bits and pieces....
Got it home filled it up and the seem split so went back and exchanged it straight away with no trouble or arguement ...
They where great
