Re: cherry barbs #3
They're great little characters! They are tough! Great for the beginner because they're colourful, hardy and, once they get settled in - active little fish.

They were my first fish, and I love them! Couldn't rate them highly enough!

Yeah, they'll go fine with neons. I have them in the same tank with Pristella tetras. They both usually mind their own business - even Hannibal largely leaves the tetras alone.

Re: cherry barbs #6
Yeah, they're the same as tetras when it comes to shoaling - so minimum of 6.

Lewi: You have a filter strong enough for a 24gal, right? I might be tempted to stick with only 6 of each and see how they get on then. In fact, I think you'd be close to your stocking limit if you had 6 of each.

Re: cherry barbs #8
I'd recommend you get the barbs first Lewi. Neons should really be added to a fully mature tank.

Re: cherry barbs #10
Well, if everything goes OK, wait 2 weeks, (consider it quarantine period) then get the neons and put them in quarantine for at least another 2 weeks before adding them to the main tank.
