Heres the confusion:

Above is a picture from when the fish were in the pond for around a couple of weeks
Notice the golding patchs near the gills and on the under body. this went to

See my confusion, now the one pictured above still swims constantly with the other never leaving its side which is how tench apparently behave. the pic below is the other 'Tench'

I would have thought that aswell however there have never been any goldfish in the guys pond only Tench and redfins. When i had to take the fish out of the pond a month or two back the colour of the darkest one is decieving, it is actually a greeny browny colour to dark brown on top, the water just gives the impression of black. weird huh?

Re: Confused fish lol #9
Is the actual tail of the 'Tench' taller than it's body or is the tail very short and compact in comparison to the body?
Are the scales quite small?

Re: Confused fish lol #10
Sorry was trying to find the best photo to link too as I am not that knowledgeable on tench mainly goldfish did find this information on them though

Tench Facts

Tench are possibly the most hardy of all coarse fish, able to live in very poorly oxygenated water and, as such, they are often the only fish to survive after a pollution incident.

Tench have a thick-set, olive green body, red eyes and tiny scales covered in a thick protective mucus which makes it beautifully smooth to touch.
