Friend or foe? Ugly thing #1
Hiya, I hope someone can help me: I have found these ugly millipede things in my filters. Usually they are very small and wash out into the bucket I use to clean the filters.

Today I have found a much bigger one:.

Any Ideas on what it is?

Thanks

Hiya Shooting,

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you have a marine setup cause that thing looks an awful lot like a bristle worm and a nice sized one at that

Yeah, I was thinking it must be marine, it's like nothing I've ever seen this is why I don't want a marine tank

lol, it's not that pleasant looking is it!! I've yet to see any bristle worms in my tank yet and to be truthful, from what I've heard, I'm not sure I want too!!

Hi shooting37, that is a fireworm. the fluffy white hair is'nt fluffy is really spikey and ti flare up when it is attack. If it touch it sting like burning sensation feeling which is why it called fireworm. It part of the brittleworm species. They 're hard to catch so ur lucky to get it. Eeryone has their own opinion about keeping them in the tank. I'm happy to get rid of mine as i find they're a pest and do more damage for what they are worth.
