Cover the tank lid with a large damp towel and don't remove for a few hours after spraying and basically, be careful where you spray. Have you tried the stuff you put on the back of their necks?

(that's the cat, not the fish)

I used to use a chemical spray called ACCLAIM, they may have renamed it by now. It is very toxic to acquatic life so you would need to cover the tank.

The best thing about this spray was that you only needed to treat the house once (it should last for about 9 months) as it continues to kill off any eggs that may be about to hatch in your carpet.

Hope you manage to sort it.

I also agree about using the pipettes which you get from the vet for the cat. You use them on an ongoing monthly basis. One type used to be called frontline, but your local vet will either have it or an equivalent.

Yeah, put frontline on the cat, use a fleabomb in the rooms away from the tanks (keep the doors shut!) and in the room with the tanks use powder because it doesn't stay floating around for so long. You still need to cover up the tanks though, I used clingfilm when I did mine and I didn't have any casualties

Then shave your cat so it doesn't get any more fleas

I also used to use ACCLAIM is the towel over the tank enough? I was thinking that i could just spray 1/2 the room and this might kill the fleas in the whole room (through lounge dinner) I don't know?

Thanks for the tip on cling film I'll try that under the towel to make sure!!
Wasn't going to shave the cat this time as he is getting on a bit (15yr) am I think it would traumatise him

The cling film's a good idea, I'd go with that!

Oh, and turn off any air pumps as well.
