what about setting up a small live food tank where you set up a small tank and try to keep live food in it, would be interesting as I've tried a few times with daphnia and only once has it been a success

One of the LFS does feeder shrimp 10 for a £1 prehaps best stocked tank with £1 worth of stock

Two good ideas. Would the £1 stock include those bought from local breeders? That's where I get my best buys.

There are a couple of issues with stock for a £1, one you can abuse it, what's to stop someone selling you a pair of discuss for £1.

And two, it might encourage people to keep fish/inverts/umm fish food they might not otherwise want which means what would they do after the comp.

Prehaps it's better to pick a suitible comp and then have a few sub comps like best looking/ best bang for buck... etc.

the story of shrimpy once a upon a time some innocent shrimp were goin to be sold as fish food then i brought them saying i had silver shark i fed them but then i felt sorry and saved them i put with my crabs but they got eaten but not one he's name was shrimpy and he was super smart he died of old age people miss him very much.
