Shrimp need quite hard water (think of the exo-skeletons they need to maintain) so it's more likely to be unsuitable water params or perhaps just simply death, that caused it's demise.

Kuhlies are not known for attacking other fish/shrimp. Far more likely the shrimp just died and the others were just hoovering up tbh. Most small dead stock in a mixed tank don't last long really unless you spot them quickly, as they are seen as fodder. Gruesome I know, but quite normal.

I know what you mean but still it just sent shivers down my spine just thinking about the poor thing.

I do love my kuhli loaches but still. It's just ugh.
