Sorry, I meant outdoor pond stocking where you wouldn't be doing water changes.

I would start with 10 goldfish and see how that looks. You can always add more or your fish can do it for you

Yes, and they will interbreed. You could mix shubunkins in too if you like. They are all just different breeds of the same species, like great danes and chihuahuas are both just types of dog.

If they interbreed then the fry can take characteristics of either parent or sometimes end up with a genetic throwback like a double tail or sometimes they just end up being a real throwback to crucian carp and coming out a sort of olive/grey colour.

Just want to say thanks for all the help given. I've been fish shopping today and now have 5 yellow comets, 5 red and white sarasas and 5 orange and white sarasas. I'd like to add some red comets too at some point.
