Freshwater crayfish or Shrimps #1
Hi to you all
Does anyone know anything about freshwater crayfish or shrimps, as in time I would like to have some in my tank to help keep the bottom of the tank clean, as I understand they are scavengers.
Also if anyone knows of any other creature that is a scavenger that could keep the bottom of the tank clean and is a community dweller could you let me know about them and their habits.

Amano Shrimp, (Cardina Japonica) are good community cleaners for a tropical tank. They eat algae and dead stuff and are very entertaining to watch. Google the scientific name for more detailed info.

Stay away from anything with claws though (crayfish, lobsters, crabs etc)

The Amanos aren't brightly coloured but they're not bland either. Easy to get hold of andvery entertaining to watch.
