hi all, i have just bought a second hand tank. its a small corner tank, about 70 litres, it has one of those flower or is it a back to nature back ground. i would like to change it, anyone got any good ideas for a nice back ground for a corner tank, any ideas would be most welcome. cheers. takecare. kind regards. trigger.

Juwel do a dark structured backing which is very good at eliminating the "flatness" of the tank's back panel(s), so making the tank a lot more natural-looking. It comes in squares which can be cut to size and you should be able to find it easily in a local aquatic shop/pet shop.

I do have such a backing see my pic, although it looks good
i have found (and im not the only one) it can shrink, come unstuck, I have gods knows what growing behind it, including some platty fry, algae just loves to grow on it, so do snails. See my pic, but be warned, it a pain to clean.

not much, just enought to let water, algae, fry, snails ect get behind it, I think its about £20 a piece, you have to buy sealent and just stick it around the edges. I have it and i dont like it.

hi all, has anyone tried painting the back of there tank, if so how do you go about it, is gloss paint the best, how many coats do you give it, what is a nice colour. if anyone can help, would be very grateful. cheers. takecare. kind regards. trigger.

Ive never tried it but blue is usually the colour.

I don't know if i did it right but i stuck my background to the outside of my tank with sellotape, this means that i never have any bubbles in it and nothing can get behind it.
