Re: Poorly Blue Oranda going belly up! Help please?

Hello Goldy,
The Fluval 2 Plus comes with 2 permanent sponges which I clean in the waste water from the partial change then put them back in the pump. The same with the Black carbon pads I replace these intermediately once every few changes. I change the polyester fliter pads every water change as they have usually quite disintergrated and I was recommended to by my local Aquarium shop.
I have fed Blue the peas and he seems interested in them but hasn't actually eaten any.

Would his cloudy eyes be in indiction to somenthing?
Just out of interest, my friend bought a fish a 5 years back, not a fancy type just a normal common or garden goldfish. He came home from work and found him on his side gasping and looking in a state, he crushed up an asprin and sprinkled it in and revived the little fella - he's now 5 inches long and like a monster! He even goes mad when he comes in from work, jumping out of the tank sometimes landing on the floor, he doesn't really behave like a goldfish. I'm not recommending putting asprin in your tank for poorly fish, but has anyone heard of anything like it before?

PS - I had no idea about the Blue Stuff (sorry can't spell) what should I do to combat the effect, as you know I add cycle, will this be enough? I am just about to buy a water kit online. Could you recommend one?
