Stupid question about fixing up a breeding net! #1
I'm trying to get my breeding net (Marina ? Hagen) fixed up so that bullyboy the platy can be put in the naughty corner for a day or so. How are you supposed to fix it to the tank? It has two metal prongs sticking out at the back but there's no way to fix them. My tank is too tall to place them under the lid and there doesn't seem to be a way to prop it up across the corner without it sinking. Am I being really thick here?

the plastic box thing?

they are crap tbh, i put fry in there, guppy fry so not small things, and they got out, and that was through the finest holes at the bottom cause theres a gap between the sides and the insert

but you just bend the prongs over so it hangs onto the glass, i asked hagen before and got no reply but my other breeding net (a proper net one, far better for flow and holding fry) had prongs as well and they just bend over the side

I've got one of those, yeah they are a bit crap. I find that lettuce clips do the job though

I love my plastic breeding Box. it floats, and such. And when the food sinks to the bottom, I just move it a bit and the other fish come and eat the left overs. Its genius. GENIUS!

The problem is the top of the tank is too high for the net, the prongs can't even bend over the side as then there's only about an inch of water in it! Maybe I should get a floating one as the net box just sinks

Can you not put some wire over the top and hook the net to that

They are these clips you get for feeding lettuce to fish, it is basically just a clip and a sucker.

you could do as fishy/goldy say and secure it with wire/lettuce clips

or you could make it into a floating trap but adding a strip of polystyrene on both sides (long sides) of the trap so it'll float

Goldy- What kind of lettuce do you feed your fish? I got a few clips (One for each tank.) But I dont know what to put in them.. Or what they eat exactly. Mine havent touched my plants which is good, So I dont know.
