Folks quick question. Should I buy some real plants for the biorb while it's empty?

no, they'd absorb the ammonia before the bacteria use it, many people would say yes, but i've had plant gods (lol) prove me right on other forums (it felt good lol)

so IMO dont, but when you do add plants add things that dont root in the gravel, use things like java fern or elodea

Bettas have character. My sisters Betta Challenges her Gator that is here bubbler in her tank. It also tries to fight the ammonia meter. I sit there and laugh at him, but hes so pretty, and yet, so stupid. ;)

They are good choice, they'd be happy, and They can fend for themselfs once the tank is cycled.
