fluval fx 5 Vs eheim pro 3 #1
Is there much to choose between the two in any way? Apart from a hundred quid.

Goldie, pretty much what I had decided as well, thanks though. I guess there's a reason for the hundred quid difference!

Looks a good one and a well known name brand too I have a Rena external which is a very good filter but getting replacement media isnt as easy as for some of the others, so best go with the Ehiem

What about the "water change feature" on the fluval? Serious advantage or money making gadget??

PFK has a review of external filters this month, the fluval has some very good features, but the eheim on test is a more basic one. I would go for size and ease of use. Fluval have served me well for years, but I don't know much about eheim.

Re: fluval fx 5 Vs eheim pro 3 #8
i was going to change my external for a eheim but after reading the article in PFK i've decided to go for the fluval - media is easier for me to get hold of then any other as well - i take that into account as well as the filter.
