I'll look into getting a bigger tank.. but I was a bit worried a bigger tank would make him more exhausted? He wasn't coping well in the main tank. He's able to manoeuvre in the small tank without any restrictions.
Sorry for asking so much it's because I know how good you guys are!! ;)
Goldfish give off a lot of waste and with the tank not having a filter this will build up very quickly causing him more stress its always a good idea to have a back up filter just in case the main one breaks or for hospital tanks as you can borrow one of the 2 sponges from your main tanks filter replacing it with a new one to mature the spare filter, you can do this even if it is a smaller filter the plastic tubs are ideal for emergencies and can be put away when not in use
Ok, I could get a small filter but then does that mean the dosage will therefore be doubled? I feel like I'm taking too long and underprepared!
I've just bought a small fluval u1 filter from amazon next day delivery, whilst on there I also bought Octozin, I've tried this before on my earlier fishes for dropsy, wondering if I could try this again
Not sure if you can help but I have a straight tail goldfish who is poorly :O(
He has been unwell for 10 days now, I initially thought it was swim bladder s0 didn't feed him for 3 days then introduced some skinned boils peas as per internet research. I also added some disease safe treatment to the water as advised by my local pet shop (I have done this twice as per instructions)
He is still not looking great, but is swimming around occasionally but spends most of his time resting on the bottom. He does look like he has a dark lump inside him which I thought was constipation but am getting increasingly worried for him. My other fish in the tank is fine.
