In Isolation, what to feed assassin snails #1
Hi all.
I have a 40 gallon tank, I bought 3 assassin snails to deal with the usual peat snails.
In between the UK getting locked down and now, I have realised that I actually have over 10 baby assassin snails and all of my pest snails have (I can only assume) been eaten.
All the fish stores are shut, I can only get basic supplies from a normal supermarket.
What can I feed all these assassin snails?
I have noticed that since the decline in pest snails, algae has started to grow, Iv read conflicting articles that they do and don't eat algae.
Hoping for some advice on simple things to feed them of they don't eat algae

Re: In Isolation, what to feed assassin snails #2
I've had a quick browse and read that they're carnivorous - it may be difficult for you to get bloodworm or brineshrimp now, though. It seems to be a bit trial and error as to what they eat eg they might eat flakes or pellets or algae wafers due to the wafers' high protein content but won't eat algae per se. I feed my nerite snails Dennerle Shrimp King Snail Stixx (available online currently from Pro-Shrimp if you're in the UK) to keep their shells healthy, particularly important as I have soft water.

Hope that's helpful.
