tennis ball goldfish now upside down and not feeding #1
Hi. We have about 9000 litre pond with 23 goldfish 6 to 8 inches long.
one has swollen up so it looks like a tennis ball with a tail, and now it wont eat and spends its time upside down in a corner. should i euthanize it or is there a way to fix it?
thanks in advance

I think it would be worth doing an Epsom salt bath/dip by lifting out the fish and placing it in a tank/tub to do so. Unperfumed Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) can help reduce bloating by drawing excess fluid out of the fish's body.

This article https://bettasmart.wordpress.com/2015/ ... alt-for-health-solutions/, albeit aimed at another fish species, has quite a good explanation of the difference between its use and that of aquarium salt.

There is no guarantee that the Epsom salt bath/dip will work, especially if the bloating is caused by an underlying infection, and it may be that it's too late to work, but definitely worth a try, in my opinion.

Best of luck!
