Brown worm like remnants, plus small flies #1
Hello,

Since getting the ammonia and nitrites under control, there is now another problem (see image).
Besides this, there are small flies on top of the water (~1-2 millimeter)

Could you please let me know what it is and how to get rid of it?

Thanks!

The worms are detritus worms - they feed on leftover food or rotting plant material etc in the substrate. If you have a lot of them it usually means you're overfeeding and/or not cleaning the gravel enough.

The flies will be midges - if it's an open top tank, use a condensation tray to prevent them landing on the surface.
