Recommendations for air pumps please. #1
Hi.
I want to add an air stone or two to my 180l tank. I understand i will need an air pump to run them, but i have no idea which ones are suitable for my set up. I wondered if anybody might be able to recommend a decent, inexpensive one please?
Thanks in advance

I can highly recommend the Tetra APS300. It's well made, reliable, very quiet and usually costs between ?20-?30. I've had mine just over 4 years and it's never given me any trouble. It has 2 outlets so you can easily run two airstones from it, or you can link the outlets together to run a single airstone. Hoses and all accessories are sold separately. Aquarium airline hose is a standard size, and if the pump is positioned lower than the tank, each hose will need a non-return valve to prevent water from being siphoned out of the tank and into the pump when the pump is switched off.

I would highly recommend the Ehiem air pumps. By far the quietest air pumps I've ever owned and they produce good output. They're not the cheapest on the market but they are definitely worth paying that small bit extra for.

Hi.
Thanks for replying.
I've got my eye on an Eheim actually. It is quite a bit more expensive than most others so i'll have to see what the bank balance can handle! :D
