General coral advice #1
Been running a 225lt marine tank for four years now, have experienced the usual ups and downs but generally all is ok.
However, apart from a large healthy colony of pulsing xena , almost every other coral I purchase eventually withers away - polyps in particular never perform in the way they do wherever I purchase from - refusing to bloom and finally shrivelling away
I have not used any additives for any prolonged length of time and have a salifert all in one on order along with iodine
This seems the obvious mistake but any other advice would be welcome

My testing kit covers the basics - ph , nitrates etc, but do I need to invest further in testing for magnesium , strontium , amino acids etc

I have fish that are over 3 years old but never seem to get more than a few months out of any corals
