Shouldn't the warranty start from when you got the replacement pump?

You have to look at this from a business point of view.

4 years in a 5 year warranty pump fails.
Give new pump, new 5 year warranty.
4 years in (5 year warranty) pump fails.
Give new pump, new 5 year warranty.
4 years in (5 year warranty) pump fails.

You have to draw the line somewhere, or you would keep giving pumps away. Easiest way round it, is to say warranty is only for 5 years. Not all pump makers give a 5 year warranty.

Might be.

But look at it this way. (No offence intended to anyone)
Look how many people stay and post in the pond section. You can count them (us)on one hand.
Most join, ask a question or two, and then are never heard from again.

There is hardly anyone that posts and has a pond. which is why no one else has said they use brand X pump. But that said, Oase are a good reliable make of pump. Yes there are other makes, but are they as good? No. (But some are catching up) and yes, I do think Oase are over priced.

The picture? yes, all the pumps are made by oase
Good quality costs. Bear this in mind before you start.

Sorry if my reply is NOT want you want to hear, but what I have said is true.

We can only go by what you type.

A "thank you" costs nothing, but goes a long way.

Oase really are the only way to go with pumps, I work in a shop that specialises in ponds, although expensive the amount we actually get returned to us compared to cheaper brands is over half.

Another point to consider. (This is nothing personal, just a statement of the facts)

Today is the 31st May, nearly 2 days after the question was asked. Since then only 2 replies have been made, one of which was mine, but no response from The OP.

Are you (the reader) thinking what I am thinking? (But having trouble putting it into words)

Answers on a post card please.

All.

Unfortunately I can't check to see if there's new posts every day but all responses are appreciated I was just checking before shelling out another ?450 on an oase pump just incase there were alternatives because if I spend ?450 for a pump that will last 5 year minimum with the warranty that's ?90 a year cost just for the pump as opposed to one that costs ?120 and lasts 3 year minimum with the warranty

I shall try and explain.

I guess I am just thinking out loud.

Remember I said

Then you said

Bear with me on this.

If as you said "no one seems to know" why did "they" not ask or even make a comment. (rhetorical question)

Then later you said

You posted that almost a week ago, no replies or comments. (I chose not to comment at the time, though I do wish you luck)

Since you posted your question (about what am I thinking) 116 views have taken place*. Even if you said 58 were by internet search engines, that still means 58 people looked at it. Even if 1 in 10 people replied you should still get 5 replies or comments, but no, not a comment.

Also as I did say from the outset This is nothing personal

It could be said what started it all for me was This post Why ask, and then never reply? I understand in some circumstances its not possible, but can that be the case for everyone?

I am trying to figure why people post, but never return.

Discuss.
