Strange shrimp behaviour #1
Really worried about my Amano Shrimp, I've just done a 10L water change on Brea's tank and now the shrimp are darting around like mad. They keep shooting up to the surface and then freezing and drifting to the bottom of the tank as if they are dead before darting off again. I've turned the lights off now as it is becoming quite upsetting. Any ideas?

Cheers

What tap water treatment do you use Jon?

I've witnessed similar behaviour in a previous tank where I added a bit too much prime by mistake

Ah I did use Prime do you think I've over done it? It's a devil to measure for small quantities.

Confession: I've got one just too lazy to use it.

Re: Strange shrimp behaviour #6
I was fortunate enough to be able to catch them and move to a tank B, (lost 2 Amano though during the process) they can be quite sensitive to Prime I feel, if dosed just a 'tad' too high. Doesn't affect the fish at all whatsover though. Not sure if you have that as an alternative

Perhaps a further dilution?

Re: Strange shrimp behaviour #7
I've just been reading on a shrimp forum about the need to add water change water very gently 20mins for 25L! I pour mine straight in with a watering can sprinkler so need to be more careful in future.

Re: Strange shrimp behaviour #8
All four appear dead but on close inspection a couple of them have twitching legs. I've bagged them up in water from the goldfish and will see what happens overnight. I'm having cherry shrimp next they don't seem so fragile.
