Its easier to do than it looks, and it solves a lot of problems.

We have a heron who visits round here and I can hear a pond from our garden but I cant see it. Its kind of putting me off getting a pond. The first time I saw the heron on next doors roof I was quite frightened it seemed so huge close up.

Great, a device that shoots out water at a bird and scares it off.

It also needs a permanent water supply, so if you haven't got one you will need an out side tap.
You then have to be careful not to trip over or puncture the hose.
If you get a frost the hose will freeze rendering the unit useless.
When it does work if it goes off often it can make the ground waterlogged.
It also goes off if anything else passes by.
Not so much fun if that happens to be you.

Yes they work, but for a garden pond, a net is cheaper, doesn't require a water supply and works in winter. Sill want one?

Yep, seems the Yanks with outside pools/ponds use them too for cats, racooons and deer, check out You Tube for positive posts! Would work for big birds i.e. Herons.

Versions I have seen work off water buts too some from taps though

Ok, people can be careful LOL

Will possibly only affect those with turf. Patios paving/decking etc not affected other than a possible hose down every now and then!

Unit I saw on Amazon had manual off switch for when you need to enter 'given' area.

Not a miracle cure, only a possible option to consider
