There really seems to be a gap in the market for good quality cabinets/stands that don't look like they came from an Eighties furniture store (unless Eighties furniture is your thing of course )Also, many look quite flimsy and in danger of collapsing or being knocked over!

I've started off small and placed the tank on the kitchen worktop but am hoping to progress next year and would love to know where to get a really good tank and stand.

Totally agree about the lack of non-MDF, flimsy looking aquarium furniture. It took me a long time to find the tank, cabinet and lid that I have - see my profile for a nosey.

Good guys to deal with too.

Otherwise, if you have the funds, you could contract your local sawmill or joiner to make a decent sturdy stand for you?

I started out with an old solid sideboard from a local charity shop - not perfect, but in my opinion better than some specialist ones on the market.
