Re: How much live rock do I need? #11
yep tested and all seems fine.....its only been a bloody week! lol. Does it have anything to do with what state the live rock was in when I purchased it?

Yeah it could do. I've read alot of threads where owners tanks have cycled between 4 to 10 days and that it's a case now of waiting for your tank to mature. I'm sure it'll be ready for a couple of clean up crew now. Hopefully someone on here can confirm that this is the case.

hi
the cycle will be completed when the nitrite peak is passed.
Then you'll be able to add the first cleaning members safely, then corals and really after the possible fishes.

Depending on the presence of a skimmer, live rocks rate varies : with one something in weight between 10 and 15 % of the water volume seems good, with none ( which I regard as taking a very high risk ) 20% is a minimum.

But il also depends on the kind of set-up you want to have.
